The “McGonigal” affair in Albania is taking on new dimensions in Albanian media’s focus, and in Kosovo, the establishment of an Association of municipalities with a Serb majority, namely, the draft bylaw from FES, is in the first place. This is just part of the selection of CIVIL Media’s editorial office from Albanian media in the region.

KLAN – Dossier McGonigal, Hoxha: There should be an investigation by the Albanian authorities

“Journalist Artan Hoxha in the TV Klan “Opinion” show said that an investigation should be launched in Albania for the much talked about ‘McGonigal’ case, given that in the investigative file Albanian officials are mentioned and the meetings of the former FBI official in Albania”, reported the Albanian media outlet Klan.

DUKAGJINI: FES proposes a draft bylaw for the Association, it should be created based on the Constitution of Kosovo (document)

“At times when pressure is rising day by day for the establishment of the Association of municipalities with Serb majority, a draft of this mechanism has already been prepared. Such a thing has already been made also by the Foundation for social democracy – Friedrich Ebert Foundation, which also works in Kosovo. Radio Television Dukagjini provided this draft from diplomatic representatives in Pristina. The document contains 18 articles, while the first article outlines that the Association is a legal entity established on the basis of the Constitution and the legal system of the Republic of Kosovo”, is said among else in the exclusive news of Dukagjini.

TELEGRAFI: Illegal constructions in the Skopje Old Bazaar to be demolished

“Around 40 constructions occupy public space in the Skopje Old Bazaar, concluded the Inspectorate for construction and urbanism. Catering facilities have been usurping state property since they expanded their facilities with the construction of terraces.

The Director of this Inspectorate, Fatmir Arifi, says that they have given the owners a deadline of 20 days for they themselves to remove the extended facilities, should they not respect the deadline, they will be forced to demolish them themselves, with the owners being obliged to pay all the expenses”, reported Telegrafi.

BOTA SOT: It’s Edi Rama’s turn to be declared non grata

“With Edi Rama you have lot of evidence. William Argeros in 2012 was sentenced to 4 months in prison after having facilitated head of Albanian opposition Edi Rama to provide funds for a taking a photo with Barak Obama. The US law prohibits sponsoring of a political campaign with foreign contributions. Another violation of law has come out these days, an Albanian paid a bribe of 225 thousand dollars to buy several documents related to lobbying of the opposition and so on”, writes Ilir Levonja in the column ‘It’s Edi Rama’s turn to be declared non grata”, published in the Kosovo daily Bota Sot.

FLAKA: Culture knows no party

“How funds of the government of Kosovo dedicated for promotion of the rights of the Albanians from the Presevo valley and the culture in this part of the Albanian space, ended up in the hands of the party and are allocated mainly to people close to this party”, an excerpt of the editorial ‘Culture knows no party’”, of Flaka.
