INFOKUS: The barricades in the north are expected to be removed today
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, following the meeting with representatives of the Serbs from Kosovo, stated that the removal of the barricades will start this morning.
Vucic says that the barricades will be removed in 24 or 48 hours, reports Kosovo media outlet Infokus.
The removal of the barricades will begin before noon, it cannot be done in two hours, whether in 24 or 48 hours, the barricades will be removed, but the distrust remains”, said Vucic.
BALKANWEB: The first barricades have been removed on the Serbian side in Merdare
The barricade that was located two kilometers from the border crossing point in Merdare, on the territory of Serbia, was removed this morning, announced the team of Radio Free Europe, located at the scene of the event, reports BalkanWeb.
The Kosovo police also confirmed that the road was freed from the barricade.

The German government called on the Kosovo Serbs to remove the barricades and to return to the institutions of Kosovo, reports Kosovo media outlet Bota Sot. The spokesperson for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christoph Burger, said at a regular press conference in Berlin:
“We are very concerned about these tensions in northern Kosovo. The barricades erected illegally by Kosovo Serbs must be dismantled as soon as possible, and yesterday’s blocking of the Merdare border crossing by Serbia worsens the situation even more”.
KOHA: The Kosovo police with details about the trucks set on fire that served as barricades in the north
The Kosovo police announced details about the two trucks set on fire in the north of the country. Based on the announcement, the police stated that early this morning it had been reported that at the location called “Shkembi i Dudes” (“Duda’s Rock) in northern Mitrovica, two trucks had been set on fire, which were located near the barricade, reports Kosovo daily Koha.
The police said that apart from material damage, no injuries have been reported, while the case is being investigated.
