Russia is backing away from a planned vote on a resolution on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine due to a lack of support in the UN Security Council, news agency MIA informs.
Instead, the UN’s most powerful body will reconvene on Friday morning (most likely 1400 GMT) for an emergency meeting on alleged US laboratories producing biological weapons in Ukraine, Russia‘s UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya announced in New York on Thursday.
The council had already dealt with the issue once at Moscow’s request. The accusations are widely described as misinformation and baseless propaganda.
