The new restrictive measures that are to start on August 16, and which provide for only persons with at least one dose of the vaccine to enter hospitality facilities, have speeded up the vaccination. The Ministry of Health informs that the interest for immunization has significantly increased and because of this four new vaccination points are being opened as of today in the polyclinics Bit Pazar, Dracevo, Cento and Gjorce Petrov.
According to information from the Ministry, 32 percent of the adult population on the territory of the entire country has already been immunized with at least one dose of the vaccine.
The day before yesterday, 17.679 citizens were vaccinated, while 8.030 received the first dose, bringing the number to a total 543 597 citizens who have received the vaccine, 439 048 who have been revaccinated, namely, 982.645 doses have been applied.
The Ministry informs that according to the latest figures, 66 percent of the population over the age of 70 have received at least one dose of the vaccine so far, 63 percent over the age of 65, 59 percent of the people over the age of 60 and 48 percent over the age of 50.
Citizens can be vaccinated without an appointment at vaccination points throughout the country. The process of field vaccination is being carried out across the country.
– The vaccines prevent severe disease and death. We can prevent further mutations of this virus only with mass vaccination of the population and therefore we call for all citizens to join the process of immunization, states the Ministry of Health.
