From today’s current events on the political – social scene, it is worth to mention Gruevski’s statement on where he will be serving his sentence, the statement of Fadil Zendeli from the Besa party on the submission of 4 amendments, and above all, the visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Slovenia and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miro Cerar, to Macedonia.
Nikola Gruevski so far has a verdict for two-year imprisonment for the case “Tank”. Today he stated for the media that he has received the verdict, but not the referral act on where he is to serve his sentence. Gruevski also added that he will use all legal possibilities that he will have at his disposal and which will be advised by his lawyers.
MP Fadil Zendeli, from the political party BESA, today stated that they will submit four amendments to the Constitution, which opens the preamble of the Constitution in which the concept of a civil state is requested, the Albanian language to be equal to the Macedonian language, the state to care for all of its citizens in the diaspora, and for the president of the state not to have the right to veto after the second voting of a law or other act in Parliament.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Slovenia and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miro Cerar, is visiting Macedonia today. At the meeting with the Prime Minister of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, as the government press service has announced, Cerar, welcomed the Parliament decision in the direction of realizing the Prespa Agreement, as a step forward in Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integrations. He announced continuation of Slovenia’s support for Macedonia’s development and the country’s membership in NATO and the EU.
Cerar also had a meeting with the President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, where they had discussed the same subject. Of what is known in the public, Ivanov informed Cerar that the people at the referendum showed that they do not accept the Prespa Agreement, but that in the Parliament the majority of the MPs had acted contrary to the will of the citizens.
Cerar’s reply to this question is not known. The rest of the discussion with Ivanov had been in regards to the illegal migrations, the good bilateral and political relations.
Cerar also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov.
CIVIL – Center for Freedom announced awarding of awards for the most successful journalists on October 26 (Friday), at Opera House Hotel, starting at 12.00 noon. The awarded stories speak about social problems, violation of human rights and freedoms, abuses and injustices, hate speech.
