REK Bitola Bloc 1 shut down, to be reactivated by end of day

Bloc 1 of mining-energy combine (REK) Bitola was shut down overnight due to a defect and its reactivation is expected by the end of the day.

The Bloc 1 was shut down due to a blown pipe in the facility, which is considered a minor incident, said the company on Monday.

Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM) is meeting the needs of the remaining capacities and the procured electricity that serves as reserve for such brief incidents. Bloc 2 is also being repaired and the facility is set to be on the grid by the end of the week.
