Bulgaria expects the bilateral dialogue with the Republic of Northern Macedonia to lead to concrete results. This was stated by President Rumen Radev in a telephone conversation with Commissioner Oliver Varchely, the press service of the Bulgarian head of state said.
The conversation was initiated by the EU Commissioner for Good Neighborliness and Enlargement.
– Bulgaria is open for dialogue, asked clear questions to its southwestern neighbor and expects answers, but also a real reaction from the Republic of Northern Macedonia, said the head of state.
According to the Bulgarian President, the agenda of bilateral relations between Sofia and Skopje should not be subject to external influences, but should be opened with commitment from both sides, which would move the process of European integration of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
Rumen Radev stressed the respect for the rights of the citizens of Northern Macedonia, who openly demonstrate their Bulgarian identity, as well as the sustainable eradication of hate speech and respect for Bulgarian history and cultural heritage in RSM.
