Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has criticized the government in Sofia that it hasn’t done enough to present Bulgaria’s position on North Macedonia to the partners in the Western countries, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports.

He announced he would run for a second term alongside with the Vice President, Iliana Iotova.

Radev made the announcement at a news conference where he presented his achievements during his four-year term.

Last year, he said, was a year of dramatic events, which had accelerated social and political changes here. “During this turbulent year, the institution of president has kept defending the interests of Bulgarians. To serve as the corrective and the final barrier against lawlessness and lobbying. To include important issues in the agenda and to rally around crucial causes.”

According to the President, the reality requires institutions with clear priorities and predictability in their activities.
