“Our big Ukrainian family is united by the family of the state symbols of Ukraine. These are three brothers: the National Flag of Ukraine, the Coat of Arms and the State Anthem. In my opinion, it is very important not only to mark the emergence of statehood but unite for its preservation. We thought we had ruled in our land. We are laying down our souls and bodies to attain our freedom, since we forgot that not all enemies had already vanished like dew in the sun… But, we did not forget our nation. Thus, fate shall definitely smile upon us, because it is our fate,” the President of Ukraine told.
At the same time, in a commentary to the video address, Zelensky noted that this morning had been restless in Ukraine due to Russia’s missile terror.
“We will not surrender. We will not give up. We cannot be intimidated. Ukraine is an independent, free, indivisible state. And it will always be like that,” Zelensky stressed.
A reminder that Day of Ukrainian Statehood was introduced by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, dated August 24, 2021. Today Ukraine is marking Statehood Day for the first time.
