Serbia supports the friendly country of North Macedonia and its European integration aspirations given the fact that our entire region belongs in the European Union, read the credentials of the new Serbian Ambassador to the country, Nevena Jovanović, which she presented to President Stevo Pendarovski on Wednesday.
Pendarovski at the handover ceremony said he expected in the future the two friendly countries to use all the potentials and a priority to be set on cooperation as part of bilateral and region projects in the economy and trade, investments, infrastructural and energy connectivity, culture and education, his office said in a press release.
Stressing that continuation of the political dialogue and mutual consultations contributed to advancing and enhancing good neighborly relations, President Pendarovski pointed out the respect and advancement of the treatment and status of the Macedonian community in Serbia and the Serbian community in North Macedonia.
“They are a bridge for our two countries to be connected. I give my full support for the opening of culture centers in Belgrade and Skopje and I hope the governments of the two countries will complete the project this year,” he said.
Noting that the relations between the two countries record an upward trend and contribute to stability of the whole region, Ambassador Jovanović said Serbia has been paying special attention to its relations with North Macedonia and is deeply interested in further improving it in all areas, said the press release.
