Anti-corruption commission
The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption today filed misdemeanour charges against the Director of the Hematology Clinic, Irina Panovska Stavridis, for not fulfilling the legal obligation to submit a questionnaire on the property status. From August 2017, the mandate of the director has continuously been extended, while she has submitted all the questionnaires at once on May 15 this year.
Criminal charges
The Department for combatting organized and serious crime filed criminal charges against D.P (51), employed as President and member of the Energy Regulatory Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia until June 2018, S.J (61), employed as member of the Energy Regulatory Commission of the R.N. Macedonia, V.K (65), employed as member of the Energy Regulatory Commission of the R.N. Macedonia until March 2017, and E.M.V (51), employed as member of the Energy Regulatory Commission of the R.N. Macedonia until December 2017, and due to reasonable suspicion for having committed the criminal offense “abuse of official position and authorization” according to article 353, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the RNM”, announced today the Ministry of Interior.

The President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, attended an event organized by the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Religious Groups, on the occasion of observing the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, proclaimed on May 21 by the United Nations and UNESCO.
The event was opened by the Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Religious Groups, Darijan Sotirovski, who welcomed the guests and stressed that this event concludes the activities realized within the framework of the “Week of common prayer”, realized from May 13-21, with the aim to encourage cooperation and dialogue between the religious communities, a stable and sustainable process of building trust, friendship and a society of true human values, coexistence and progress.
The President of the RNM
The Cabinet of President Stevo Pendarovski has been formed and the names of his members are already known.
Recent Government spokesperson, Mile Bosnjakovski, has now been appointed as general secretary or chief of cabinet, Biljana Radeva is a press officer, Bljerim Koljari is an advisor for national security, Aleksandar Spasov is an external advisor for internal and foreign policy, Goce Karajanov is an advisor for foreign policy, Tose Zafirov is an advisor, Biljana Micevska is chief of protocol, Katerina Canevska is a media advisor, Ljuljeta Ademi is an advisor who will be leading the communication with people with disabilities.
Denko Maleski, Aleksandar Dimitrov and Aleksandar Tavcioski are external advisors for foreign policy, and Mirjana Lazarova Trajkovska and Besa Arifi for legal affairs.
Blerim Reka has also been invited as an external collaborator, but refused a formal engagement.
Pendarovski also appointed Erol Musliu as the new Director of the Intelligence Agency.
CIVIL – Center for Freedom yesterday, May 21, held a workshop in Veles titled Together against violence.
“The extremism that is emerging in our society has to be eradicated at its very start. This start is precisely in the educational system and that is why it is necessary for all the workers to be involved in this process, together with the local community to actively be involved in preventing violent extremism. It is necessary to have a safe living environment at the local level by getting to know the local problems and building common local strategies”, said Verica Todorovska Daceva, Head of the Department for public procurement of the Municipality of Veles.
The team of CIVIL – Center for Freedom yesterday visited the municipalities of Lozovo, Sveti Nikole and Veles, within the framework of the project “Green Future” in cooperation with the Heinrich-Böll Foundation – Sarajevo, where they spoke with citizens about green alternatives, anti-nationalism and the problems that the citizens of these municipalities face.
At CIVIL’s info stands, citizens had the opportunity to learn about the connection between these three elements, which are a precondition for a society that strives for democratic values and progress based on concern for the environment and the future.
They also had the opportunity to be actively involved by sending messages to the local and central government, to exchange opinions, views and information, freely and without restrictions on topics in the area of social justice, green initiatives and anti-nationalism.
