The Government of Republic of Macedonia does not plan to spend more than 300 to 400 thousand euros on the campaign for the referendum. The campaign should be carried out in nice atmosphere, after which the citizens will vote “for”, said yesterday Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
The State Election Commission today held a public session at which it reviewed and approved the requests for receiving authorizations for monitoring of the Referendum.
At this session, the requests of the Committee for open democracy, the Earth Saviors Foundation and the OSCE/ODIHR Referendum Observation Mission were being reviewed.
The Government at a session today reviewed the information on introducing joint control with Albania at the border crossing Kafasan – Kaftane, namely a one-stop shop.
Cristian Danielsson, Director of the European Commission’s Directorate for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, today stated that on September 30, the citizens will make a choice that will shape the future of the country, and that this choice will have consequences for the future generations.
He congratulated the Prime Minister and the Macedonian institutions for reaching the Agreement with Greece for resolving the name dispute, which according to him opens the country’s path to the EU.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stated that the citizens will vote ‘for” at the upcoming referendum, and that the number of those who are against is smaller and that they are part of the campaign led by the initiative “I Boycott”.
The Prime Minister is convinced that the numbers will grow, and also expressed hope that the opposition will be positive because, he pointed out, it is also for the European Union and NATO.
The Minister of Justice, Renata Deskoska, today at the opening of the new facilities, open and half-open section in the largest prison in our country, said that the construction of new accommodation capacities in the Penal Correctional Facility “Idrizovo” is one of the measures that the Government and the Ministry of Justice undertook for improving the conditions for executing sanctions. The Minister pointed out that investing in the infrastructure of the prisons is not the only aspect of improving the conditions of the prisons.
