The month of Ramadan fasting has begun, serving as a reminder that mercy, respect, solidarity, kindness, love and forgiveness are values that have to be fostered and that unite us as nations, says Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
PM Zaev says in a time of COVID-19, these are days when we care even more for the sick, the spiritually discouraged, fellow citizens and all those in peril.
“We lend a hand to everyone, regardless of their religious background. To all our fellow citizens of the Islamic faith, let the holy month of Ramadan be blessed, bringing them peace and tranquility,” says Zaev in a Facebook post.
Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski also wishes Islamic followers and their families comfortable fasting during Ramadan, the holy month of patience and good thoughts.
“Let the Ramadan days bring you peace and reaffirmation of your faith, but also motivation for good deeds inspired by humanity, mutual understanding and solidarity, because they are the foundations of our unity, in our one society for all. In the name of solidarity, I urge you to jointly contribute to the preservation of health, demonstrating care for the others through denial and restraint, responsibility for the loved ones and fellow citizens,” says Spasovski in a Facebook post.
