Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Tuesday with a European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) delegation, led by Western Balkans Regional Director Zsuzsanna Hargitai and Andi Aranitasi, Head of North Macedonia’s Office.
Clear support was voiced at the meeting for resuming the cooperation with an accent on implementation of ongoing projects aimed at economic development and improving the quality of living standards, the government said.
Support, the press release said, was extended for projects related to road and railroad infrastructure, energy infrastructure and projects involving environmental protection and support to small and medium-sized enterprises.
“Readiness was also expressed to intensify cooperation focused on improving connectivity at a regional level with the neighboring countries to improve economic growth despite the health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated the press release.
Furthermore, the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans, recently presented by the EU, was welcomed. The participants in the meeting concluded that regional development and cooperation between the countries would contribute to improving investment conditions and job creation.
