Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski; Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi; and the government ministers of finance, economy, foreign affairs, defense, and environment will participate in the 7th Delphi Economic Forum taking place April 6-9 in Greece, reports news agency MIA.
According to the official agenda, Prime Minister Kovachevski will speak at a panel discussion with a journalist from the Greek newspaper Ta Nea on Saturday. Later in the day, the prime ministers of Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro and EU representatives will take part in separate panels.
Deputy PM Bytyqi will take part in a panel discussion Friday together with EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Prishtina Dialogue and other Western Balkan issues Miroslav Lajčák; US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Gabriel Escobar; former US Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Walker; and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Čadež.
They will talk about the stability of the Western Balkans. Also on Friday, Minister of Finance Fatmir Besimi and Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi will participate in separate panels.
Besimi will take part in a discussion with the President of the Greek Business Association in North Macedonia. Bekteshi will attend a panel on how the war in Ukraine is affecting regional economies.
Other participants include Greece’s Secretary General for International Economic Relations; the Program Manager for Southern Europe at the World Bank, and a professor at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.
Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and his counterparts from Greece, Slovakia, and Kosovo will speak at a Saturday panel on Europe after the Ukraine war.
Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska, together with an assistant professor at a German university and members of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, will speak at a Thursday panel focusing on security issues. Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Naser Nuredini will participate in a Wednesday discussion with the director of the Greek Institute for Sustainable Development.
The 7th Delphi Economic Forum, titled ‘New Realities,’ will convene 760 confirmed speakers from 36 countries to discuss topics ranging from world security, global economy, the climate emergency, the future of the EU, to technology, health, society, and culture.
This year’s four-day forum will feature discussions on the global impact of the pandemic and the consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine for Europe and the rest of the world. Also planned are several closed panels, one of which will be on Turkey.
The event will host European presidents, prime ministers, EU commissioners and ministers as well as scientists, university professors, and entrepreneurs.
The forum is held under the auspices of Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who will address the official opening on April 6. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the final day of the event. President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola will appear via video link.

Last year, the Delphi Economic Forum organized the First Skopje Economic Forum. The second will be held on June 6. Forums will also be held in Tirana (May 10), Sofia (May 20), and Belgrade (Oct. 6-7).
