XHABIR DERALLA
Far-right Apasiev met with Russian Ambassador Bazdnikin in the Macedonian Parliament. As these (mildly said) political idiots boasted, they had spoken 90 minutes without an interpreter, in Macedonian, about “denazification and eliminating the threats of far-right and radical neo-Nazi political movements, which are a danger to any modern democracy”.
What to say about the “big news” published on the party website and in the media?
The shortest description
Disgusting manipulation, rude humiliation of street, gangster levels and cheap provocation is the shortest description of this event.
Let’s try a bit milder, even though this incident doesn’t deserve so. This act is extremely undignified and is not fitting for any country, the least for one that aspires to the status of world superpower. All right, the reputation has long been deteriorated, and the aspiration is already a past, but that is another dark topic.
Bazdnikin could have answered back to the stupid (mildly said) invitation from the “carried away, enthusiastic host”, that it is not fitting for him to enter an institution of such high-rank in the country that has condemned the brutal aggression of his country. His country is bombarding and killing children, and the politics of the leader of his country remind of the darkest regimes of World War II. He should have found at least so much diplomatic manners in himself as to reject this offer, and in return, let’s say, invite the Macedonian far-rightists to his embassy.
Grotesque
Nevertheless, the event is full of comic and grotesque elements.
Bazdnikin succumbed to the temptation to partake in this cheap, stupid, ugly and provocative act in the parliament, even though, apart from condemning the aggression, our country has exposed and expelled at least two spies from his embassy. Here is a question that reveals the comic (and grotesque) dimension of this, essentially, ugly action.
What kind of an ambassador of a country in war is this, who spent 90 minutes with local politicians of a party with two MPs? At the same time, these are far-rightists with low political moral and an extremely vulgar, violent and street vocabulary? One could easily think that his host, Apasiev, is rudely mocking him, taking his time and according to his habit – is trolling him? In short: Is Apasiev mocking Bazdnikin?
If Bazdnikin’s boss, the experienced world-class diplomat Lavrov, found out about this, I’m not sure he would be thrilled. But Lavrov has a “bit” more serious problems to deal with at the moment…
Apasiev’s attitude towards the public and the voters is insulting
Yes. Apasiev’s attitude towards the public is insulting, but even more so towards the members and voters of the party that calls itself Levica (The Left). If it’s not mockery, then the condescending behavior towards an ambassador of a country whose leader wants to resurrect tsarism, while at the same time leads a party whose name is Levica (Left) – is very strange. Not to mention that the ambassador comes from a country that is led by a war criminal.
There is nothing leftist in the action with which the unbalanced little boss of Levica is trolling the public so arrogantly. On the contrary, it’s an insult! It’s an insult to all of Levica’s members and voters who say they are true supporters of the political left in our country. The members and voters who say they are leftists should think about the motives and nature of this clique that has kidnapped the party and turned it into a Russian subsidiary and far-right gang.
Personal experience
Speaking of condescending, this attitude of Apasiev is nothing unfamiliar to me.
The party that Apasiev privatized, sued me for my personal opinion expressed in the text “Left rightists… Fakers“. Yes, yes, an entire party sued an author of a column. And – in the courtroom – he complained (“the poor guy”) that my writing had inflicted mental pain on him, and serious discord in the party.
He lost the case.
This movie is bad
Luckily for him, and unluckily for society, this pest and enemy of the Macedonian national strategic determinations, his party has endured. At the same time, the budget of this gang is growing by the day, at the expense of the Macedonian taxpayers. This, to be honest, is not due only to the Russian support for this party and the fierce propaganda, but also to the extremely low level of political and electoral literacy in the country.
Let’s conclude. In the Macedonian Parliament there was an incident – pests attacked a room and stayed there for 90 minutes. The local servants of the Kremlin’s Madman have played a morbid and grotesque one-act play. But if some of the people are naïve, let’s hope that the institutions are not. This movie is bad. The institutions have a legal obligation to face the producers and actors.
I consider that, in addition to the institutions, the media and creators of public opinion also have an obligation to react to this gross humiliation and mocking of the democratic institutions and the public. The trolling, insults, death and other threats that after this text will be published on the social networks and propaganda media of the radical right and the pro-Russian agitprop, is an acceptable “price” in the efforts to defend the public interest.
