Croatia is one of the greatest supporters of the Republic of North Macedonia’s European integration. We’re also grateful to Croatia for its sincere support and responsibility for a peaceful and prosperous Balkans in a united Europe, President Stevo Pendarovski said at a press conference held with Croatian President Zoran Milanović in Zagreb.
“For us, there is no other viable alternative to full membership in the European Union,” President Pendarovski said.
Every country makes efforts to provide security, safety, and prosperity to its citizens. Without cooperation between countries, however, this is not enough, he noted.
“Our two countries, our citizens are connected by deep historical and cultural ties. We are close in geography, similar in language, culture and mentality, worldview and values,” President Pendarovski said.
President Milanović said their meeting focused on the European path of North Macedonia.
“It won’t be simple,” Milanović said. “It will take a lot of effort, friendly help, a lot of discussion, persuasion.
“Croatia knows how much perseverance and tedious, hard work it takes to achieve these goals. The same awaits North Macedonia on that path.”
“We will do our best to prevent digressions,” Croatia’s President pointed out.
