President Stevo Pendarovski President Stevo Pendarovski condemned the burning of the Bulgarian flag at the Vevchani Carnival on Thursday.

“Setting the Republic of Bulgaria’s flag on fire during the carnival in Vevchani was inadmissible and disgraceful,” President Pendarovski wrote on his Facebook profile.

“We need to build trust, understanding, and respect with our neighbors,” he highlighted.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condemnation at the act of burning the Bulgarian flag in Vevchani, and Bulgaria delivered a sharp note verbale to the MoFA through Bulgaria’s Ambassador Angel Angelov.
