Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, who is paying a visit to the Republic of Kosovo on Friday met with his counterpart Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz and discussed bilateral cooperation focusing on the economy and opportunities to improve infrastructure connectivity.

During the talks, two delegations reaffirmed exceptionally good relations between North Macedonia and Kosovo and preparedness of both sides further build close and lasting friendship in the interest of citizens of two countries, but also as Osmani said “as a good example for the region which is still facing numerous challenges,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

“Kosovo and North Macedonia have an active trade exchange, but at the same time there are huge potentials for strengthening the economy, which of course requires infrastructure support,” Osmani said.

They also discussed the cooperation in the sphere of education and science, culture and health.

As part of the focus on building an open dialogue with all countries in the region, Osmani conveyed North Macedonia’s support for continuation of Pristina – Belgrade dialogue, as the best way to overcome differences and find a lasting solution between the two countries in the interest of citizens and the entire region, reads the press release.

“Our common ambition, full EU membership of all six countries in the Western Balkans, is the only alternative that provides long-term stability and prosperity,” Osmani said.

During the visit, Osmani will also meet Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release on Friday.
