Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met with Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on the sidelines of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Antalya.
Osmani and Çavuşoğlu concluded that the two countries nurture a long and close friendship, without any open issues, and as NATO allies, they share the same values in terms of peace and stability in the region, through good neighborly relations and regional cooperation.
Talks particularly focused on the exceptional economic cooperation between the two countries, with the ministers committing themselves to activities that will contribute to deepening business and trade relations.
Given that Turkey is one of the biggest foreign investors in the country, and thus of special interest, Osmani briefed Çavuşoğlu on the decision to send an economic counselor to North Macedonia’s Embassy in Ankara, who will work exclusively on promoting economic cooperation.
The two also tackled cooperation in education, defense, culture, tourism, as well as fight against terrorism and all forms of extremism.
