The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, will participate today and tomorrow in Riga in the regular meeting of the NATO North Atlantic Council at the level of Foreign Ministers.
During the two-day working sessions, issues of strategic importance to the Alliance will be discussed, such as the situation in Afghanistan, addressing current and future security challenges, as well as cooperation with partners. The Ministers will also discuss the new NATO Strategic Concept, as an important document regarding the future geostrategic role of the Alliance. The discussion on the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans will be of particular importance, where the need for joint, strategic action and NATO and EU approach to the Western Balkans is expected to be emphasized as a basic precondition for the stability and prosperity of the region.
