This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs at a press conference today Bujar OsmaniAnswering a journalist question whether he had contacted official Paris regarding the further steps for the possibility of starting negotiations, he stressed that that communication already exists, but will be concretized in the second half of January, now that France has taken over the presidency of the Union. .
Regarding France, I have already established communication and a request for a visit and meeting with the highest French authorities. It was initially agreed that the meeting would take place these days, but we still decided that the meeting should take place after the formation of the new government here in our country, ie in the second half of January, when that communication will have to be officially established, which now it exists in the meantime, but it is necessary to determine the French plans and positions regarding their engagement in this process, Osmani said today.
France took over the presidency of the Union on January 1, and although enlargement is not explicitly mentioned, experts on Northern Macedonia and Albania do not rule out progress in the process, especially since the French initiative to resolve the Macedonian-Bulgarian dispute and start the Bulgarian veto.
