As Ukraine ends its third year of full-scale resistance against Russian aggression, the global struggle for democracy, justice, and truth has never been more urgent. On March 4, 2025, prominent international experts, policymakers, journalists, and civil society leaders will gather for an online conference titled Ukraine and the World: Resisting Aggression, Defeating Authoritarianism.

🔴 The working language of the event will be English. The conference will be livestreamed.

The conference is organized by CIVIL – Center for Freedom (North Macedonia), Media Dialogue, and Youth4Media (Germany), New European People’s Forum (international), founding members of the #DefendingDemocracy Initiative (international).

Sixteen speakers are confirmed from North Macedonia, Ukraine, Germany, Moldova, Armenia, UK, and USA.

This live-streamed event will explore key issues shaping the future of Ukraine and the broader global response to wars of aggression, and authoritarian threats, disinformation, and hybrid warfare. The discussions will emphasize Ukraine’s stance for the necessity of a just peace—one that includes the full liberation of all occupied territories since 2014—and the unwavering support Ukraine requires from the international community to achieve victory and long-term security.

Conference Agenda Highlights:

🔹 Panel 1: Resistance, Peace, and the New Axis of Autocracy
🔹 Panel 2: Defeating Putin and Authoritarianism – The Quest for Peace, Justice, and Democracy
🔹 Panel 3: Disinformation as a Weapon – Countering Disinformation and Hybrid Warfare

The event will feature leading voices in international politics, media, and civil society who will share insights on the geopolitical, security, and informational challenges of our time. In particular, speakers will address the risks posed by appeasement policies, the necessity of dismantling Putinism as a global authoritarian force, and strategies for combating Russian disinformation.
