It is a great pleasure to inform you that the Government adopted yesterday the revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the Paris Agreement, setting the ambition to achieve 51-percent reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, compared to the 1990 levels, said Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Naser Nuredini on Wednesday.
Minister Nuredini said in a statement that the strategic document is a new, more ambitious contribution to the global efforts to reduce GHG, focusing on climate change mitigation.
“The positive aspect in the adoption of this ambitious revised NDC is enhanced by the fact it determines the country’s contribution in the realization of the Green Agenda and the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans, serving as an instrument for more investments,” added Nuredini.
The revised NDC reflects the green scenario of the Energy Development Strategy by 2040 and is fully aligned with the draft-Energy and Climate National Plan.
