Defence Minister Radmila Shekerinska and NATO’s Assistant Secretary General David van Weel in his capacity as the Chair of the Cyber Defence Management Board (CDMB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cyber defence cooperation between North Macedonia and NATO, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release Friday.
The memorandum aims to improve cyber defence cooperation and assistance between NATO and the country’s cyber defenders.
‘We take cyber security very seriously. The memorandum of cooperation with NATO on cyber defence enables a coordinated response of the Allies in the event of a cyber attack and represents a serious contribution to strengthening our national capacities for dealing with cyber attacks, as well as the Alliance’s resilience in general“ said Minister Shekerinska.
Assistant Secretary General van Weel stressed that cyber defence is a priority for NATO and its Allies.
“Enhancing resilience to evolving cyber threats is critical, and this MOU on cyber defence that was signed with North Macedonia is an important step,” he noted.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cyber defence cooperation facilitates information-sharing on cyber threats and best practices, helps prevent cyber incidents and will enable North Macedonia to increase its resilience to cyber threats.
Moreover, it will improve cyber defence cooperation and assistance between NATO and the country’s cyber defend
