New Year’s Eve in Ukraine: Hundreds of missile and drone attacks across the country, battles on the ground continued

On the New Year ’s Eve, the Russian aggressors in Ukraine did not take a break. Ukraine’s military sources reported, on December 31, the last day of the 2022, Russians “launched 31 missile attacks and 12 air strikes, as well as more than 70 MLRS attacks.”

“Civilian infrastructure of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions was damaged. Information on civilian casualties is being finalized. In addition, the enemy launched 13 Iranian Shahed-136 combat UAVs. All of them have been destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The threat of enemy air and missile strikes across all of Ukraine remains high,” the report reads.

There has been fighting on the ground during the day. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks near nine settlements on December 31.

According to the military reports, Ukrainian troops repelled the Russian attacks in the vicinities of settlements of Stel’makhivka, Ploshchanka, Bilohorivka (Luhansk region), Soledar, Bakhmuts’ke, Bakhmut, Ozaryanivka, Mar’inka, and Pobieda (Donetsk region).
