In the settlement of Madzari, Municipality of Gazi Baba, the Madzari Cinema got a new look with a big and visible graffiti: DEAD SHQIPTAR, GOOD SHQIPTAR (“Shqiptar” is considered a derogatory and insulting name for Albanians when used in other languages.)
These graffiti are visible from the street, sending an unequivocal message to all those passing by and “proudly represent the discourse of ethnic hatred that is being imposed on the citizens.
Hate speech hasn’t died down, but obviously this is a relatively new reading for everyone passing by the cinema, but also for those who gather in front of it in the evening hours.
Otherwise, the Madzari cinema is known for at least two events that are held under the auspices of the Municipality. On July 15, here on the plateau in front of the cinema, an international folklore event was held, and before the New Year, a bazaar is organized, as well as New Year’s parties.
