The Ministry of Health said Monday that a total of 1,537 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals in North Macedonia.
A total of 668 confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are being treated at the infectious disease wards in the hospitals in the capital and 869 in COVID centers across the rest of the country.
48 confirmed coronavirus patients have been admitted in the COVID centers in Skopje due to virus complications over the past 24 hours, of which 30 in internal and surgical clinics.
Moreover, seven patients were admitted at the COVID unit within the Skopje City General Hospital ‘8 September’, six patients at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, one patient at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle and four patients at the Children’s Hospital, adds the press release.
In addition, 24 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.
A total of 319 patients are currently being treated at COVID units within Skopje’s internal and surgical clinics.
There are 136 patients at the “8 September” hospital, 146 patients at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, 37 patients at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle, 19 patients at the Children’s Clinic and 11 patients at the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
According to the Ministry of Health’s press release, there were 70 hospital beds available in Skopje and 300 nationwide until Monday at 8 am. More beds are expected to become available during the day as recovered patients are discharged.
All state centers have enough oxygen for patients who need it and hospital capacities, if necessary, can be increased to admit more coronavirus patients, the release adds.
