The Ministry of Health, today also informs on a significantly increased interest in vaccination among citizens that was noticed yesterday. The vaccination is running smoothly at all points throughout the country, as well as on the field in the smaller settlements and rural areas.
As the health authorities inform, as of yesterday, 571 392 citizens have been vaccinated, 462 192 have been revaccinated, that is, 1 033 584 doses have been applied. 8808 citizens received their first dose yesterday, while 15 574 in total were vaccinated.
According to the latest numbers, 67 percent of the population over the age of 70 has received at least one dose of the vaccine, 64 percent of over the age of 65, 60 percent of those over the age of 60, and 50 percent of the population over the age of 50.
The Ministry of Health points out that vaccines are safe and effective, and the only way to beat the pandemic. “Only with complete vaccination can a severe form of the disease be prevented, and the chance of infection and death be reduced”, outlines the Ministry.
Hence, they remind citizens that vaccination does not require a scheduled appointment, except for minors from 12 to 17 years, for whom the registration for the vaccine is on the website vakcinacija.mk
