Regardless of public objections, the country’s primary education reform will begin in the 2021-22 school year with new curricula and teaching tools for first and fourth graders. According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the new digital learning materials “will give better academic results” than printed textbooks.
“All preparations are going according to plan,” the official press release says. “The curricula have already been adopted. The procurement of 10,000 tablets is underway.”
Also, the Ministry of Education is currently developing the learning materials for first graders.
The materials “should be ready by the end of July,” the release adds, “and the first digital textbooks should be completely ready and distributed to schools in the first half of August.”
Additionally, according to the Ministry of Education, 265 schools will get new science classrooms.
“These classrooms are for the upper grades, but it is important that the schools be ready for the reform process that will be implemented in the next 5-6 years,” the release reads.
