The Commission for Infectious Diseases is set to meet on Thursday, discussing possible further restrictions but Health Minister Venko Filipche says there is no need for this for the time being and expects the existing restrictions to yield results in the coming weeks.
The Commission could possibly propose the closure of an economic operator or restrict movement in the afternoon hours or during the weekend.
“We still believe this should not be yet recommended but we are monitoring the epidemiological situation and we will make decisions if such measures are required,” said Filipche.
He says there is no risk for imported cases from neighboring countries that have enforced a lockdown.
“The experts group within the joint task force has concluded there is no risk of imported cases because the main risk in each of the regional countries is local transmission,” added Filipche.
