Revival of the state and the party, real, substantial changes and a new concept – social agreement (consensus) between all stakeholders for the so-called joint patriotism which means respect for diversity and sincere friendship in the name of progress, announced tonight Hristijan Mickoski after being re-elected to today’s regular 17th Congress President of VMRO-DPMNE.
Thanking the delegates for the trust to get a second term, Mickoski said that the party is entering a second epoch whose priority will be the individual, freedom from restraint, freedom of thought and choice.
The people want an option they will trust, and VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski emphasized, is that alternative.
– We must do everything, we must not disappoint and fail. We must succeed, make fair progress, provide equal opportunities for all – an idea that has been sidelined for the past three decades. Get ready, not a lot of work is waiting, not a fight is waiting, the people have expectations and hope that something will change, we must not betray them. To return the state to the citizens, to create the Macedonian dream together, said Mickoski.
From this congress, he added, VMRO-DPMNE came out stronger, with even greater enthusiasm and energy for the times and challenges that follow.
– We sent a clear message of unification and unity. The energy is awakened and shows that Macedonia can and knows how. We will fight, hope exists. Changes are coming. We have gone through severe trials over the past four years. This is now our time, the moment of the new generation. The road ahead is difficult and long, this is a common battle. The climate may be harsh and we may not get what we want right away, but I never hoped more than today that together, we would reach the goal. There may be delays, we will not be able to solve every problem. However, I will always be honest with you, I will listen to you. “It is our duty to ensure that people have a choice,” said the VMRO-DPMNE leader.
According to him, society has been in the same swamp for too long due to irresponsible policies.
– The value system has become a rule of conduct in everyday life. Our struggle is not only for the party and for the individuals, the task is much more serious. But we are ready to say that Macedonia will win. Macedonia can change, politicians can and must change. A new era of leadership is coming, said Mickoski and added that VMRO-DPMNE in order to create more successful policies will lend a hand to every intellectual.
Explaining the social contract for the so-called common patriotism, Mickoski said that “there is no longer yours and ours, we are all under the same roof that leaks equally and needs repair to regain its shine.”
– It is not too late to fix things. It’s time to move on, one with the other. “Common patriotism is a difference that we will respect each other, opening the doors of VMRO-DPMNE for all communities, our new strategic positioning,” Mickoski underlined.
In his address after the re-election, Mickoski announced new economic measures, tax cuts, open war on corruption, measures in agriculture, progress in culture.
Today, Mickoski was re-elected president of VMRO-DPMNE. He was the only candidate for the leadership position, and received the support of 489 delegates. Out of the 493 present, a total of 492 voted, and there were also three invalid ballots.
Mickoski won the first presidential term in the party four years ago, on December 23, 2017, when he was supported by 16 delegates at the 376th Congress in Valandovo. He is a doctor of technical sciences and professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje. He was the President of the Management Board and General Manager of JSC ELEM, and in terms of party activities he performed several functions – he was the Chairman of the Personnel Commission of VMRO-DPMNE, part of the Republic Election Headquarters in the 2011 elections, part of the Republic Election Headquarters IE4 in the 2008 elections. , 2014, 2016, member of the party congress in 2003 when Nikola Gruevski was elected president, as well as a member of the congress in 2015.
