„I think that EU member states first of all have to wake up quickly and demonstrate leadership. Waking up means to wake up in this new multipolar world in which EU can be and should be one of the polls. Also to wake up in today’s Global battle for values what does it mean in practice“, said Bojan Maricik at the International Online Conference „Ukraine and the World: Resisting Aggression, Defeating Authoritarianism“ organized by CIVIL.
„I think that first of all the EU has to try to Define determine or Draw the map of the European Union. The map of the European Union that should definitely include Ukraine, Moldova and the Western Balkan countries. I think it’s a final moment in which the EU has to show determination and leadership in defining its limits, its borders and I don’t think they have the luxury to miss out Western Balkans but also Ukraine and Moldova. I think this would be number one in factorizing the European Union uh today in this new context and new situation. My next point is that uh EU has to be ready to defend its values and to fight for its values, by all means. But also to invest in their policies and in these values so to put the money where the mouth is- particularly in three areas in defense but also in economy and market development and finally in the social model which actually makes a distinction between the European Union and the other polls of the multi-polar world“, said Maricik.
