We work together also on solving the problems, but on implementing this most important statistical operation in 20 years as well, stated today Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic, who added that he is in daily communication with the team of the State Statistical Office.
– As of yesterday, 618,000 citizens have been enumerated from the field census, and that for the first seven, eight days is really a serious result, especially taking into consideration that there were two days of technical problems that luckily we successfully overcame, said Maricic.
He added that we are conducting a census according to this methodology with new technology for the first time, with modern technologies.
-For the first time we are conducting a paperless census and with tablets with which at the same time 5000 enumerators enter data. It is normal for there to be technical problems when you do something for the first time, when for the first time such an application is created and such a system. This has happened in other countries too, in Italy, and not to mention others, but the census continues outlined Minister Maricic.
He also pointed out that with all those technical problems, hacker attacks, with the help of the team of the State Statistical Office, the companies that are implementing the application, the MOI and Telekom have all managed to jointly solve all the problems.
– As far as I know, the strategy of the enumerators is for them to be persistent to the end. I think we had cases when citizens who at the beginning refused to be enumerated later were enumerated and were able to see that the operation runs well, lasts shortly, safely and according to protocols, said Maricic.
