The census is an opportunity to successfully complete a statistical operation which is invaluable for the development of the country, Justice Minister Bojan Marichikj said at a meeting with members of the diaspora in Brussels, urging them to self-register in great numbers.
“I pointed out to our citizens living here in Belgium why it is important that the diaspora takes part in the census in great numbers. We need to have an accurate picture. Finally, citizens have the opportunity to do something directly for themselves. Census results will be a roadmap in creating all development policies. The census will be held. Its methodology and implementation are in line with highest international standards and EUROSTAT,” Marichikj noted.
The Justice Minister has confirmed the Government’s position that the census won’t be postponed, and it will be held in line with highest standards. In addition, due to the pandemic, strict health protocols will be in place designed by the Commission for Infectious Diseases to ensure safety of the statistical operation, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
