Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has rejected claims by VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski that “Macedonia was dismantled” last week, calling it irresponsible policy.
“The opposition leader said Macedonia was dismantled in Sofia over the weekend. All those accusations were thrown as if playing with toys. One cannot play with the people and the nation in this way, because you produce only hatred but also possible tensions and problems with neighbors,” PM Zaev told Telma TV.
He says everyone has been assured there are no talks about the Macedonian people and language.
“Therefore, Macedonia was not dismantled, as they accused, or that Zaev was selling Macedonia and taking part in secret negotiations. I am pleased that the Macedonian people is standing behind us, alongside all other ethnic communities,” says Zaev while accusing the opposition of producing fake news and demonstrating destructive behavior.
