Macedonia at crossroads: Self-isolation or returning to Euro-Atlantic integrations!?

VMRO-DPMNE is threatening that it “will not allow ambassadors to further interfere in internal political issues”, while SDSM says that the “isolation is ending and that perspectives of a united Republic of Macedonia and its citizens are once again opening”.

The Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE at a meeting it held adopted a proclamation consisting of five items, which leader Nikola Gruevski revealed to the protestors in front of the SEC and to the Macedonian public.

We are presenting the proclamation integrally:

„1. The SEC has adopted unlawful decisions in order to cheat the electoral will of the people. The work of the State Election Commission has turned into parody, we have information about the interference of some foreign representatives in order to influence some of the mebers of the Stata Election Commission, in the direction of post-electoral engineering and forging the electoral will of the citizens of Republic of Macedonia. Some SEC representatives are not independent. SEC’s unlawful decisions can be corrected by the Administrative Court. We urge for there to be no pressures on the Administrative Court, by anyone.

If the Administrative Court also succombs to outside influence and upholds the SEC’s unlawful decisions, with which VMRO-DPMNE’s victory is taken away and the freely expressed will of the citizens of Macedonia is forged, VMRO-DPMNE announces that it will:

Not participate in the election rerun and will not recognize the results of that rerun.

Not allow pardoned criminal Zoran Zaev to form a government with a forged will of the citizens of Republic of Macedonia.

VMRO-DPMNE will not allow the functioning of institutions with a forged will of the citizens, and the functioning of institutions that do not have the legitamacy of the citizens of Republic of Macedonia.

2.The state must make decisions in a sovereign manner. Some ambassadors have begun to interfere in the internal politics of the country too much. That has to stop. We remain open for communication with all ambassadors and representatives of other countries, but some ambassadors have begun to meddle too much in our ineternal politics, they need to stop doing this.

VMRO-DPMNE will not allow further interference of ambassadors in intrapolitical issues of the country, and we demand that they remain within the framework of their mandates and authorizations as diplomats.

VMRO-DPMNE is leaving the format of meetings and negotiations with other political parties in which ambassadors, foreign mediaters or representatives of other countries participate in, and at which negotiations are being carried out or decsions made that need to be decided by representatives elected by the people.

3.VMRO-DPMNE in the future will not accept non-standard or hybrid solutions in any sector, if such solutions do not occur in other EU member states”.

4.VMRO-DPMNE will not accept and will not allow cantonization and redifining of the state under any conditions or curcumstances.

5. We will fight for de-Soros-ization of Republic of Macedonia, and strengthening of an independent civil society sector that will not be under anyone’s control. We will regulate the funding of foundations and NGO’s, in the style of the most advanced democracies in the world.

VMRO-DPMNE, historically and now has been and will be in the future a pro-Western oriented party. Our oriention is membership in EU and NATO! And strategic partnership with the US. The fundamental value of NATO, EU and the US is democracy, and this proclamation is a proclamation for the protection of democracy in Republic of Macedonia”.

Following VMRO-DPMNE’s proclamation and Gruevski’s appearence, which some of the media have also said it to be a “dangerous move of a desperate loser” and a “cry of man in dispair or of a statesman in defense of sovereignty”, oppositional SDSM responded with an announcement.

We are presenting that announcement integrally as well.

“The regime has been defeated. Civil Macedonia has won. Citizens have chosen life and changes.

No one and nothing can stand in the way of the democratic proccesses and freedom in Macedonia.

Citizens have recognized the manipulations, that is why they are peaceful, aware of their victory. As of tonight Nikola Gruevski is faced with reality. It is over with Gruevski in politics. VMRO-DPMNE is going into opposition.

Macedonia needs responsible politicians and a government that will work in the interest of the citizens. Republic of Macedonia will recieve such a government.

The institutions in Macedonia must work in the service of the citizens.

The isolation is ending. Perspectives are once again opening of a united Republic of Macedonia and its citizens”

Following Gruevski’s appearence, opposition leader Zoran Zaev alos reacted, who called for calmness and reserveness among citizens:

“Let’s not allow any provocations from anyone, including from the one who has been destroying Macedonia for 10 years. His time is over. The institutions have to do their job according to the Constitution and the law. Who will be forming the Government does not depend on the decisions of the SEC and the Administrative Court , but they are important for the truth and the facts. Citizens voted for changes with a huge majority of votes, of more than 600,000. Changes will take place and they have been unstoppable, despite the fact that VMRO-DPMNE leaders find this difficult to accept. Changes are healthy for every country, and for Macedonia as well. I call for dignified and rational behaviour. I call for patience and restraint. I call for accountabilty towards the state and the citizens. Freedom is coming for all citizens, for all those who have voted for changes and for all those who haved been blackmailed and pressured by Gruevski. Macedonia will go forward. There will be life for everyone!”, said Zaev.
