Probably very few people know, or many have forgotten that Gjorge Ivanov was a member of the Managing Board of the Soros Foundation in Macedonia. Much less is known that he was also a member of CIVIL’s Advisory Board at the time (beginning of the 2000s). As a university professor, he had always tried to be in the company of prominent people, and manages to become their water carrier, to repair things in their homes, and in return he to receive co-authorship in their scientific projects and editions.
Not so long ago, Professor Svetomir Skaric, at a CIVIL conference, publically expressed his regrets for supporting his presidential candidacy, for giving him an undeserved place of a co-author, and for many other things because of which every decent intellectual would blush and seek the darkest corner to hide.
Ivanov is quiet, but a persevering careerist, who goes his way with an obediently lowered head. He starts off as a communist “youth” and a SDSM official of provincial calibre, and rises up to being a fierce nationalist and usurper of the institution president of the state, after an election theft that was provided for him by the Family that owns him.
His brother ends up in prison for crime, which is a direct motive for his nonconformity and rebelling. His path would have been insignificant and invisible, but it became ugly and very visible. From a silent communist, careerist, marionette and bootlicker, he grew into a radical nationalist and usurper, but remained being a marionette and bootlicker.
Even though his name is most often associated with plant life, mostly with the ficus, there are also many other ugly names that refer to intelligence problems, he is a calculating businessman, part of the family that has well-developed businesses worth millions, a part of which are headquartered in tax haven Panama. Maybe in comparison to the businesses it is “nothing”, but we do remember his tie of 5,000 euros that he bought with money from the citizens.
The name Ivanov rose in the political stratosphere after he started obediently implementing the agenda of the family that was in power for 11 years and managed to seriously violate the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Macedonia several times, while his mouth was full of the Constitution. He is directly responsible for the fierce obstruction of the work of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, and with the abolition of the suspected Gruevski and the Family in April 2016, he revolted the Macedonian public and unwillingly contributed to the forming of the Colorful Revolution, after which the regime fell.
He embarrassed Macedonia wherever he went, and to a large extent contributed to the country’s isolation from the international scene. While Macedonia was facing a fierce security provocation on
May 9, 2015, he was attending a military parade in Russia. That was no coincidence, just as all of his political-intelligence hugs with Putin are not. That is called espionage and treason, isn’t it?
Ivanov, with the help of the propagandic-espionage network, became an icon for a handful of radicals who want nothing good for the country, aware or unaware that they are part of secret foreign operations that are directed against Macedonia. his cabinet is composed of known and unknown intelligent officers working for Russian and other secret services. A more serious investigation on his actions in the usurped presidential cabinet would probably lead to a long term prison sentence.
The impeachment, the examining of his work capability, the investigations for his unconstitutional actions were all taking place in 2016, and in the beginning of 2017. Today, the impeachment for him and his bosses would mean a propaganda favor, and certainly it would be the mildest punishment for his misdeeds and disgraceful role in politics.
Nevertheless, it is important for someone to tell him that he will not escape justice, and that it will be decisive and strict. With every next step he makes, he will either decrease or increase the punishment and shame. It is high time for him to make a decision on his own, probably for the first time.
