Vice President of the Bulgarian National Assembly and former Bulgarian Foreign Minister, Christian Vigenin, wrote on Facebook that the coalition agreement for governance between “Change Continues”, BSP, “There is such a people” and Democratic Bulgaria has a clear position on the European perspective of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
As MIA reports from Sofia, he writes that this topic remains one of the biggest challenges for Bulgaria and the Bulgarian government in the field of foreign and European policy.
According to Vigenin, maintaining a broad political agreement and co-operation between the country’s institutions is the key to successfully defending the Bulgarian interest. He believes that the National Security Advisory Council convened by the President of Bulgaria is a good opportunity to obtain new information and share political views on the next steps.
At the end of his post, Vigenin concluded that every word is important, and therefore hopes that improvised statements at this stage will be kept to a minimum so as not to create a false impression of cracks in Bulgaria’s position or among coalition partners.
