The Government decided Tuesday to release a public call for lease of state-owned agriculture land for areas over three hectares by way of e-bidding, informs MIA.

The decision is part of the set of measures within the National Food Production Plan that is being implemented, the Government said in a press release. It adds that farmers are stimulated to focus on increased production of strategic agriculture crops.

The purpose of this support is to secure accessible and cheaper food, as well as reduce import dependency, considering the global crisis in the sector.
