The Government and the Ministry of Finance are drafting a new set of anti-crisis measures for businesses and citizens, and they will be communicated to the public as soon as they ready, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Sunday, transmits MIA.
“As we speak, the Finance Ministry is working on specific measures that will be presented to the public as soon as they are ready,” PM Kovachevski told reporters.
He recalled that the Budget revision incorporates EUR 76 million for this purpose, and dialogue has already been initiated with chambers and businesses over electricity supply.
“We are heading for the most difficult winter in post-WWII Europe. These anti-crisis measures will focus on the most vulnerable groups, as before. Low-income citizens will come first. Furthermore, the main task will be to ensure electricity supply and energy resources during the winter,” said Kovachevski.
He added that North Macedonia’s gas is supplied 100-percent from Russia and would therefore have to ensure alternative sources.
“Ministers are already working together with neighboring states on this issue. We are also in talks with the European Commission on electricity supply in case of shortages on the continent. Energy companies are working on securing the required liquidity and the quantities for uninterrupted production of electricity,” underlined Kovachevski.
