Last year we realized 79% of the capital investments and we continue at the same pace this year as well. Roads account for a significant share of these investments, news agency MIA reports.
By the end of the mandate in 2024, my goal as Prime Minister and this government is to have modern and safe roads that will mean faster movement, but also a strong and developed economy, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said while overseeing the construction of the Gradsko-Prilep expressway. He noted that according to the analysis, the government performance in the implementation of capital investments is excellent even in times of crisis.
PM Kovachevski said that infrastructure capital investments help maintain economic stability, ensure higher productivity and employment, reduce production and transport costs for companies, and iimprove the quality of life of the citizens, the government said in a press release.
“Our goal is for North Macedonia to continue to be built and connected with safe and modern road infrastructure. Since the beginning of its mandate, this government has built and reconstructed over 1,000 km of roads. The investments contributed for the citizens travel easier and safer, and the companies transport their products faster and more efficiently and contribute to the economic development of the country. The economic crisis we face requires even greater focus and faster realization of capital investments. In times of crisis, the most important thing is investing in infrastructure as crucial driver of the economy. The government is committed to even greater efficiency in implementation of infrastructure projects,” PM Kovachevski said.
