Commission for Infectious Diseases president Zharko Karadzhovski said Tuesday that celebrations cannot be banned but they must be responsible, while avoiding larger groups.
“Travel is not restricted. New Year’s celebrations, if responsible, can take place across the country. They can take place by observing the measures, including people you know and have adhered to the mask wearing and distancing measures prior to the event. Groups are not advisable. In fact, the purpose of these measures is to avoid groups of more people,” Karadzhovski told a press conference.
According to him, the current situation with the virus is stable but the infection is broadly spread across the country.
“It would be bad if we manage to worsen and current downward trend of new cases by 11.4 percent over the past 15 days,” noted Karadzhovski.
