We need to unite and finally start working together for the good of the country, Justice Minister Bojan Marichikj said on Wednesday after announcing the start of the first census surveys in less then a week.
Minister Marichikj said the European Union’s statistical office approved of the chosen methodology and the preparations for the headcount were well underway.
“The State Statistical Office informed us this morning the preparations for the census are going well,” Marichikj said in a Facebook post.
“Most importantly, Eurostat has confirmed that the Law on the Census and the methodology are in line with EU legislation, which sets the highest standards for conducting such a statistical survey,” he wrote.
Marichikj asked the opponents of the census to stop sabotaging it.
“We need to unite and finally start working together for the good of the country. I urge all stakeholders to spend their political energy on the development and prosperity of the country. We owe this to citizens,” the Justice Minister wrote.
