This morning in the Criminal Court in Skopje, Judge Maria Kletnicka announced that Dragan Pavlovic – Latas and his brothers Srgjan and Zvezdan have been acquitted for the unlawful construction of three weekend houses in Zelenikovo in the SPO case “Trevnik”. Judge Kletnicka stated that the act for which they are accused, according to the law, is not a criminal offense.

She indicated that the institutions had not acted. It is true that the institutions did not act timely, but there are legal provisions for this that provide for misdemeanour procedures.
SPO prosecutor Elizabeta Josifovska, stated for the media that the SPO remains in the position that there is a criminal act in the case, and that they will file an appeal in which they will dispute all claims in the acquittal.
The verdict will become effective when the Court of Appeals decides upon the appeals.

Gruevski’s criminal offences will soon become obsolete
If the court does not convict Nikola Gruevski for the case “Trajectory” by the end of October this year, the crime will become obsolete and there will be no criminal prosecution. The same goes for the case “Tank”. If they imprison Gruevski for the judgement for “Mercedes” for the SPO case “Tank”, in 2024 the execution of the sentence will become obsolete, that is, he will not go to prison for that verdict. He is accused also in the case “Violence” and “TNT” of the
SPO, while the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption suspected him as an organizer of the events of April 27, 2017.
The SPO filed an indictment for Gruevski under Article 359, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code (receiving a reward for unlawful influence), for which a prison sentence of one to three years is anticipated.
Gruevski started the crime for which he is being suspected in October 2012, and ended in October 2013, meaning that if until this October there is no judgement for him, he will be released from prosecution, whereas the process will continue for the other defendants in the case.
