At the conference “Perspectives 2019”, Biljana Jordanovska from CIVIL spoke about what awaits us in 2019 in terms of environment, social justice and the upcoming presidential elections.
“We are witnesses to the environmental problems we have faced until now. Despite all government measures in the past years, we are still facing insufficient environmental awareness”, stressed Jordanovska.
In regards to social justice, Jordanovska thinks that it is associated with the violation of workers’ rights, unemployment or overstaffing in some sectors. She considers that in that context, during the campaign for the presidential elections, the local problems will again be solved for somebody’s party profits.
Jordanovska spoke about a series of aspects that are still not regulated in order for us to have fair and democratic elections, such as the Voters Register, violation of the right to vote and corruption.
At the conference #Perspectives 2019, introductory speeches were given by German Ambassador Thomas Gerberich, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mila Carovska, Prof. Mirjana Najcevska, Dzevdet Hajredini (former Finance Minister), Aleksandar Krzalovski (MCIC), Mersiha Smailovic (Legis), Koco Andonovski (LGBTI Support Center) and Faton Aliti. Biljana Jordanovska, Dehran Muratov and Xhabir Deralla spoke from CIVIL.
