With an old photo from a rally of DUI in 2013, nationalists and party bots and the propaganda machinery are spreading fake news in an attempt to create ethnic intolerance and divisions. A photo appeared on the social networks of a huge Albanian flag placed on the “Skanderbeg” Square in Skopje, supposedly being placed on the occasion of the peace festival marking the 21st anniversary of the signing of the Ohrid Framework Agreement.
One of those spreading the lie is also the Secretary of the opposition party Levica, Jovana Mojsoska.
Blinded by nationalism and hatred, the nationalists probably “couldn’t” even notice that the people in the photo are wearing winter jackets and sweaters, which immediately indicates that it’s not the summer period.
They had taken the photo from the text of Nova Makedonija titled“Are the citizens the only ones who need to tighten their belts?!“, and at the same time not indicating that it was an old (archive) photo. What is the truth?
On March 20, 2013, during the central rally of DUI, for the local elections in 2013, a huge Albanian flag was placed near the “Skanderbeg” Square in Skopje.
The media also wrote about the huge Albanian flag on the “Skanderbeg” Square in Skopje, which was placed on the occasion of DUI’s central rally in 2013.
Such disinformation and lies with the purpose of gaining some insignificant political points, are short-term and quickly exposed. No matter how much certain political centers try to create ethnic divisions, the citizensof all ethnic communities, nevertheless, are united and get along with each other.
