Skopje’s Clinic for Infectious Diseases is nearly filled to capacity and COVID-19 patients are now being admitted for treatment at the modular hospital located next to it, which is equipped with 72 beds, the Ministry of Health said in a press release Sunday.
Medical staff, the press release read, is being rotated to respond to possible rise in hospitalized patients in the upcoming period.
Health Minister Venko Filipce has confirmed this information, saying the modular hospital, launched on Sunday, is equipped with sufficient staff from Skopje’s “8 September” hospital.
The Health Ministry stressed that the health system is prepared for the situation, but called on citizens to act responsibly and abide fully by coronavirus protective measures, to curb further spread of the virus.
