The new public health protection protocols are “contradictory and illogical” as well as selective because they allow only “wedding restaurants” to organize celebrations, according to the Independent Chamber of Restaurateurs in a press release.
They reiterate that “weddings and other celebrations have been and will be organized at all restaurants” licensed to serve guests in line with state laws and regulations.
“No law, regulation or rulebook contains the newly created term ‘wedding restaurant’,” they say, adding that this prevents other restaurateurs from organizing celebrations unless their facility meets certain criteria.
“Wedding celebrations, baptisms, birthday parties, engagements, prom celebrations, graduation parties, and various anniversary celebrations have not been organized only in these so-called ‘wedding restaurants’ but have been organized and will be organized in all restaurants,” they say.
According to the Independent Chamber of Restaurateurs, the new public health protection protocols issued by the Commission for Infectious Diseases have done injustice to the music industry as well.
Musicians are currently allowed to perform at weddings only, with the music volume restricted to 55 decibels.
