The Independent Hospitality Chamber (IHC) will as of Wednesday start issuing a ‘Clean & Safe’ certificate to hospitality facilities that fully comply with COVID-19 protocols and protection guidelines.
Last week, the IHC signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to obtain authorization to issue ‘Safe travels’ certificates, it said in a press release.
“Following the example of European and neighboring Balkan countries, to swiftly meet the needs and requirements of our members, as of Wednesday – April 14, we will start issuing the ‘Clean & Safe’ certificates to the country’s hospitality facilities that fully comply with the COVID-19 recommendations and protocols,” says the IHC.
The certificate carries a six-month period of validity, and it is issued to let guests know they are visiting trade and hospitality facilities that have made a conscious commitment to fully comply with all rules, procedures, recommendations, health protocols and protection guidelines, ensuring clean and safe stay.
Hospitality facilities will be able to use the certificate and the ‘Clean & Safe’ label in their advertising materials, on social networks, their web pages, as well as on the front doors of their restaurants and hotels.
In addition, the IHC said certificates will also be prepared for nightclubs, wedding venues and event organizers as appropriate work recommendations and protocols are adopted.

The ‘Clean & Safe’ label was launched by the Swiss tourism and trade associations. The ‘Clean & Safe’ campaign is supported by Switzerland Tourism.
